One of my absolute favourite things about Man of Steel would have to be Michael Shannon's maniacally uncompromising General Zod who managed to wreak just as much havoc as Superman, but had the cooler costume. Hot Toys have decided to immortalise him as an insanely detailed 12 inch figure and needless to say, he looks amazing...
Or if you want to see more, join me... after the jump!
Look at this crazy armour. It's like Darth Vader made love to Alien. How does he get to wear this while Superman wears a body stocking? Superman truly is running around in his underclothes...
I doubt he's very posable with although vicious plates banging together, but they've got a bit of movement out of him in the promo shots at least. This is what Zod looks like just before he punches a girl scout's cookies out of her trembling hands...
It's an extreme expression but it certainly captures the essence of the character. The likeness is incredible. And he takes good care of his teeth...
Seriously, he looks like he's about to punch a baby out of its pram.
But don't forget his glorious helmet either. I believe that this is a separate head so that it doesn't look oversize or have to be squeezed over his threatening face...
He really is equally as menacing in this form. I love, love, love the design on this film!
Zod is the third Man of Steel figure, tailing behind Supes himself, and Russell Crowe as Superdaddy. They make for a pretty nice collection and I'm actually getting tempted. Don't forget how much figures from the first Nolan Batman film, and the first Iron Man film, skyrocketed once the later films started doing big business. Henry Cavill's Superman will be battling Batfleck next, so it might be time to get in on the ground floor. Decisions, people!
