If you have been following the recent Supanova coverage on Fruitless Pursuits of the Merlin Knights, you will have read that Eoin Macken (who play Sir Gwaine on Merlin) wrote and directed an indie film set to debut at Galway next week.
The film also stars Macken and his fellow Merlin co-star Tom Hopper (Sir Percival) and the teaser trailer has just been released.
Follow me under the jump for a little more about the film.
The film was partially crowd funded on IndieGogo (which seems a lot like Kickstarter or Pozzible) back in 2012 after Macken funded most of the film out of his own pocket but couldn't complete the project.
The story itself centres on two disconnected English brothers who are brought back together by the mysterious death of their father. The brothers, played by Macken and Hopper respectively, are immediately at loggerheads with one another over past events but this changes when they discover a girl dumped alive in the moors.
You can read more about the movie and funding process here: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cold-the-feature-film
It seems like a really interesting film and a really different performance from both Tom Hopper and Eoin Macken than anything seen in Merlin.
I asked a question at Supanova about roles that these guys were really excited to get and Tom nominated this role. He said that it was very different and very challenging for him and he loved it and thanked Eoin for casting him in it.
I hope that with enough interest it will be released internationally so that I get to see it, but in the mean time, just check out the trailer and show your support!
