After a shaky and obscure beginning, the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar has been treating us right this week with its gifts based around best-movie-ever-made: The Empire Strikes Back. Sure we had an umbrella shooting pizza delivery system and a gun rack, but we also got some nice, classic minifigs from our favourite snow scenes. Will our relative streak of luck continue? And how will we ever know? Oh yeah... that's right...
We'll pull back Door #15 after the jump!...
If you're a parent you're probably thinking, I hope today's gift is some sort of Nazi inspired agent of death. Well this will surely make you smile...
Yes, it's the fearful shrouded visage of an Imperial Snowtrooper, ready to facelessly take away everything you love. HOORAY!
And let's not kid ourselves, this is a pretty amazing figure and a great match for the Mot Selleck Rebel Trooper that we received the other day. Lego is putting together a nice mini Hoth set here and I, for one, am thankful for it.
But we should really get to know the man behind the mask. Who is the monster that lurks under the helmet?
Yikes! What's he so happy about? In fact how did this guy get accepted into the military in the first place? I thought the Empire ran a pretty tight ship but this guy is unshaven and is leering at us like he drank too much punch at the office Christmas party. Let's call him Belch Mickeyslipper. Don't let him attach a piece of mistletoe to his belt.
But hey... where's his skirt? Aren't Snowtrooper's supposed to wear skirts? And maybe some heels? Attention to detail, Lego!
In the ongoing battle between this calendar and the Playmobil Game of Thrones Calendar I have to again give the point to this one. Which means... holy crap... is Lego actually ahead?
Playmobil Game of Thrones Advent Calendar: 7
Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar: 8
Cats and dogs! Living together! Mass hysteria!
YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm really thankful for star wars
ReplyDeleteGood one today! Makes up for the gungan sub! Good point about the skirt I didn't even realize until you said. And don't forget she n you put his helm at on to flip his head around. Looks way cooler with the black k in the eyes. Thathe other snow troopers I have didn't even come with faces just black heads.
ReplyDeleteMORE HOTH!!! I think Star Wars saw this website and realized if it's going to beat Playmobil Empire Strikes Back is the best way to go!!!! Christmas...snow. Hoth...snow. What's not to love? Starting to make up for the Phenace beginning to the month! We all know Hoth Troopers but I still think we need to see a kick-butt picture of one in action. Rock on Luke!!!
