So what is a Cosbaby? Well, I guess if we're to interpret it literally, it would have to be a human baby that cosplays as a popular character? A cosplaying baby? Doesn't that just blow your mind? Look at these crazy guys...
I'm not sure what astounds me more: baby Nick Fury, or the fact that baby Whiplash and Tony both rock moustaches. I bet that tickled on the way out.
We'll get to the bottom of all this madness... after the jump!
Well, it's Black Widow that you came here to see so, to truly understand this strange phenomenon, here is what Scarlett Johansson would look like if a human baby cosplayed as her...
Crazy, huh? Actually I do feel some kinship with these guys because, the more I look at these pictures, the more I realise that my own head is pretty much the same relative size and shape.
Plus, she looks kind of shell-shocked doesn't she? Sort of like, "I'm an innocent baby. I should be feeding and teething and learning about the world, not wearing a red scratchy wig and a padded bra."
Isn't odd that one of the most striking things about Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow is her curvaceous figure, and yet most of these collectibles have chosen instead to give her a hideously deformed body? Here her torso is a tubby block balancing precariously on freakishly huge Mickey Mouse feet. Or perhaps this baby is simply wearing her mother's shoes. Ha. Ha. Babies think they're people!
That said, most of the character details are present. She has her little SHIELD logo on her shoulder and her two belts and wrist gauntlets are individually sculpted. So that's all there - it's just the proportions that let her down. And the fact that her arse is shaped like a loaf of bread...
I think this is one of those scenarios where an armoured figure like Iron Man looks a lot better than a human female in a tight cat-suit. Still, it's a lot of fun as a novelty piece and not really any less freakish than most of the other stuff I have collected so far.
Martin Luther King had his dream, well here is mine:
And if you're getting sick to death of all this Black Widow stuff then don't worry - there's still plenty more to come!
